• The sixth edition of the KPIT Shodh Awards had 130+ PhD thesis submissions from across the globe
  • Three winners from the six finalists were honored for the best PhD thesis

Pune, India | 21 March 2025 |: KPIT Technologies, a global leader in building mobility solutions for a cleaner, smarter, and safer world, announced the winners of KPIT Shodh Awards 2025, a global platform for PhD scholars that recognises and rewards their research in advanced technologies for mobility ecosystem making the world cleaner, smarter and safer.

This year’s edition witnessed 468 registrations and over 130+ PhD submissions from researchers across the world, with exceptional work presented in diverse fields like sustainable mobility, bioengineering, quantum computing etc.

Following a rigorous evaluation by KPIT’s subject matter experts, six participants were selected for the final round.  After careful evaluation by a distinguished panel of industry experts, academia, and thought leaders, the winners of the KPIT Shodh Awards 2025 were selected for their contributions to their respective fields. The research projects not only demonstrated innovation but also addressed pressing challenges related to sustainability, energy optimization, and next-generation computing systems.

In the field of sustainable mobility, research projects delved into advancements in sodium-ion battery materials and the optimization of nanostructured materials for efficient, long-lasting energy storage in metal-air batteries. Additionally, innovative research in computing introduced pioneering methods for AI-driven, low-power memory systems, pushing the boundaries of innovation in mobility and energy.

Winners of KPIT Shodh Awards 2025

  • Mr. Siddhant Shrivastava from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur won the Platinum with prize money of Rs.14,000,00 for his thesis ‘Holistic Approaches for Enhancing Patient Well-being: Uniting Methodologies in Medical Innovation’
  • Ms. Abhinanda Sengupta from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay with Thesis Mechanistic Insights of Heteroatom-doped Layered Oxide Cathode Materials for Next-gen Na-ion Batteries and Mr. Subrat Swain from Kyungpook National University Korea with his thesis Shared Control for Intelligent Vehicles using Game Theory and Reinforcement Learning were the joint winners of the – Gold award for their theses Since joint winners were announced for the Gold prize the existing prize money of Rs.12,000,00 has been increased to Rs. 16,00,000 which will be distributed evenly.
